How to Move Delta Emulator Saves to a New Phone

Transfer your Delta Emulator save states and in-game saves to a new device without losing progress, step by step.

Illustration of transferring data between two phones

Step 1: Find your save folder

This guide assumes the current build: confirm yours on the Delta Emulator site, then open the app's settings and note the save directory. If it points inside the app's private storage, change it to a folder on shared storage (for example, Games/Saves) and restart the app so future saves land there. This one setting prevents most save tragedies.

Step 2: Copy everything

Connect the old phone to a computer (or use a file manager plus cloud storage) and copy the entire save folder: save states, in-game saves, and any cheat or config files. Partial copies are how progress goes missing.

Step 3: Install the same version

On the new phone, install the same current build. Save-state formats can change between versions, so matching versions is the safest path. Then set the save directory to the same relative location.

Step 4: Paste and verify

Copy the folder into place, launch a game, and load both a save state and an in-game save. If both work, you are done. Keep the old phone's copy for a week as insurance; storage is cheap, hundred-hour RPGs are not. The save states guide explains the two systems if anything looks off.

Quick answers

Will reinstalling Delta Emulator delete my saves?

It can, if saves live in the app's private folder. Point the save directory at shared storage and back it up before uninstalling.

Do save states transfer between phones?

Yes, if both phones run the same app version. Copy the whole save folder; mismatched versions can refuse old states.

What about in-game (battery) saves?

Those transfer even more reliably than states, since they use the original game's own format. Copy them with the rest of the folder.
