Delta Emulator Update Guide: How to Update Without Losing Saves

How to safely update Delta Emulator to a new version: back up saves, install over the old build, and verify everything still works.

Step 1: Back up your saves

Copy the entire save folder to a computer or cloud storage. Updates rarely touch saves, but "rarely" is not "never," and the save transfer guide shows exactly where the folder lives.

Step 2: Download the new build

Get the new XAPK from the download page. The Delta Emulator APK for Android home page documents the exact build you are on, so confirm the version number changed and the file size looks complete before installing.

Step 3: Install over the old version

Open the XAPK with your installer app and install without uninstalling first. Android replaces the app in place, keeping your data. If the installer complains about signatures, that means the new file came from a different source: stop and re-download from this page.

Step 4: Verify before you celebrate

Launch the app, load a save state and an in-game save, and play for five minutes. Check that your control mapping survived. Only then delete the old XAPK file. If anything broke, the backup from step 1 makes the rollback painless.

Quick answers

Will updating delete my games and saves?

Installing a newer version over the old one normally keeps everything. Back up your save folder first anyway: it takes a minute.

Should I uninstall the old version first?

No. Install the new XAPK over the existing app so settings and saves carry across. Uninstall only if the update itself fails.

How do I know a new version is out?

This site's download page always describes the current tested build. If the version number there changes, a new build cleared the bench.
